Message from the Chairman
7th Anniversary Luncheon 2007
Ladies and gentlemen, I would
like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has taken part
in this great undertaking. This project is successful because of
each one of you.
Seven years ago, we embarked
on a bold venture to build a distinctive water project in that
remote part of the Rift Valley in Kenya, East Africa. This project
began by faith, faith in a God who has never lost a battle. This
project has been propelled by compassion and passion. It was a move
of faith and courage. As I said then, and now I say again, "to be
all things to all people is humanly impossible, but to be less than
the best is not acceptable." We committed this project to a God who
has truly surprised us.
As I write this message, the
third tank is being built. The residents of three communities, two
schools, a church and a market place are now enjoying clean water,
yet the need remains ongoing. Any group or organization that dares
to address a serious problem, especially a chronic one like drought
and starvation or disease in Africa, must be prepared to stick it
out for the long run. It needs an army of die-hard supporters. KSM
endeavors to be that organization. When you provide one village with
clean water, the nearby villages want the same. When you provide
clean water, you are bringing in the basic necessities of life. You
cannot feed one child and leave another crying. There will be no end
to human need until Jesus comes. It is our mission and we will not
fail, God willing. Thank you for your support.
I thank God for all who have
joined to partner with us. This year is going to be another landmark
in this organization when a group, largely from Enon Tabernacle
Baptist led by Dr. Alyn Waller, will travel to the valley to
celebrate another dedication of two more tanks. I want to extend my
most heart-felt thanks and appreciation to Enon and their beloved
pastor for their partnership with us.
I want to thank the Board of
Directors of KSM and all the churches in Philadelphia and from other
states who have remained dedicated to this project. A project like
this can only be a success because of the support of many hands. On
behalf of the Board and all God’s children in the Rift Valley for
whom you provide, I want to say thank you. God bless you and give
you a fruitful year.
