The Great Rift Reunion
Kenya Vision 2010
What more can
a Nation coming out of the trauma of 2007 election ask for than for
her sons and daughters living around the world to come home, even
for a week-end? If there was ever a time a nation or community
needed moral support, it is now!
Having seen the monumental economic impact that a marathon brings to
any city that holds one, it would have been natural that the land of
"Great Runners" should host an International Marathon. But knowing
that it might never happen in our lifetime, we should then be
creative and innovative and have our own world class event. World
Cup soccer takes place in S. Africa and millions of dollars will be
going there. Why don't we snatch some to help our communities even
to give them jobs for a week-end. Our sons and daughters have broken
records in athletics and other fields around the world, so now is
the time to bring the world back home. Cities around the world have
used our sons and daughters to make money for their charities. Let's
bring the world to come and support our charities at home. Let the
world come and see how our sons and daughters will do when they are
cheered by their moms and dads and cheered with their native songs
and dance to the native drums.
We will want to recognize those who have made us proud for centuries
around the world both from home and abroad. We will want to give
moral support and healing to our communities who have endured much
pain and suffering, cheer our young athletes back home and honor
those who have set the pace, unite our people, forgive our errors
and look forward to strengthening our democracy for the future.
The three day reunion will focus not only on the marathon but also
on workshops and presenters from various sectors including but not
limited to:
*TOURISM
*Clean WATER AND SANITATION FOR ALL KENYANS
*INTERNATIONAL Business Investment/Infrastructure
*Athletics
*Farming and Food Industry
*Education/Technology
*Evangelistic/Religious Sector
*Medical and Health Sector and many other fields
One can only imagine the economic and world public relations, impact
and pride that this event will bring our people; areas of tourism,
transportation, hotel industry, and overall commerce will all be
positively impacted.
With the prospect of coming home and being welcomed, comes the
respectful question that calls for an answer. Should we go home
empty handed? I THINK NOT!.
KSM Board of Directors is committed to purchasing drilling rig(s)
and with the good will of all Kenyans in diaspora, this will be a
reality. We will dedicate water drilling activities to bring clean
drinking water and sanitation to our people. Please get in touch
with me after reading this message. You have a major role in making
our dream a reality.
Thank you and God bless you.
